Sports Illustrated turns to blockchain to disrupt ticketing sector

Sports Illustrated Tickets (SI Tickets) is launching ‘Box Office’, the industry's first blockchain based ticketing and event management platform. Box Office was built with Web 3 specialist ConsenSys and is powered by Polygon’s blockchain technology, bringing a flexible, scalable and cost-effective way to manage inventory, build brand loyalty and customer interactions.

SI Tickets launched in 2021 leverage the strength of its brand to inspire consumer confidence in the ticketing market. The unique selling point is the ‘Super Ticket’ NFT technology which allows data capture, exclusive offers and loyalty benefits to be tied to a ticket, and can be activated live during an event. Blockchain also provides greater visibility over resale.
